Description:  A French Bittersweet, Bedan makes a mild, yet fragrant cider, suitable for blending.  Very late blooming this variety is an excellent choice for areas prone to late frosts.

Origin/Parentage:  Originated in Calvados, Normandy, France in the 19th century where it gained popularity.

Growth Habit: Low to moderate vigor, productive and precocious, but prone to biennial bearing

Bloom/Pollination: Very late blooming

Disease Resistance:  Resistant to fireblight, susceptible to scab

Harvest: Mid-late October in Finger Lakes Region, NY.

Juice Quality: Tannin: 0.172%, T.A. 2.0g/l, pH: 4.26, Brix: 11-14
