Description:  A very tart, semi-russet apple, with striking bold acidity and fantastic flavor.  One of our favorite apples for eating and an excellent sharp in cider.  Ripens the last week of September of first week of October.  Fruit can show sings of heat stress in hot/dry years.

Origin:  Originated in the Netherlands as a cross between Jonathan and Cox’s Orange Pippin.

Growth Habit: Low vigor, spurry and fairly compact.

Disease Resistance:  Susceptible to apple scab

Classification: Sharp (very!)
